EASA Part 21 Initial Airworthiness

Description

This course will discuss in general terms the legal and regulatory system, as defined through (EU) 2018/1139, and in detail (EU) 748/2012.

Annexed to Commission Regulation (EU) No 748/2012 is Annex I (Part 21), with Section A Technical Requirements and Section B Procedures for Competent Authorities. It addresses the EASA design approval process and under which conditions a Type-Certificate, Restricted Type-Certificate, a Supplemental Type-Certificate and an ETSO Authorisation will be issued by EASA. Also, the classification of changes and repairs will be explained and under which conditions changes and repairs are approved by EASA or alternatively approved by an approved Design Organisation.

About the Trainer:

Mr Tang Wee Hong, ALT Aviation Solutions
Mr. Tang is an International Aviation consultant with over 26 years of experience and knowledge on Narrow and Wide Body Aircraft with International Airlines, Private Jet (VIP & VVIP) & Business Jet Operators, Leasing and Maintenance (MRO) Companies. He had managed, contributed to the growth and success of multiple international aviation organisations and was a Lecturer from Singapore Polytechnic that initiated the first Aeronautical course in Singapore. 

Graduated from The University of Sheffield (United Kingdom) with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours in Mechanical Engineering), he continued to pursue and obtained a Master of Science (Mechanical Engineering) from The National University of Singapore. He had obtained EASA DOA for various Design Organisations and held the Head of Design Organisation & Compliance Verification Engineers (Cabin Safety and Mechanical Systems) for these organisations. In addition, he was the Design Signatories (Cabin Safety and Mechanical Systems) for CAAS DOA. Also, he was a Canadian Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) Certificate Holder and Accountable Executive.

Mr. Tang had spearheaded and participated in the successful attainment of Singapore first STC issued under the Singapore (CAAS) – United States (FAA) Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA) and subsequently for The Government of the Republic of Singapore to obtain further agreement from The Government of the United States of America on the Implementation Procedures for Airworthiness (IPA).
